“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”

- Maya Angelou

How well are you navigating change?

Are you able to hold your center, your cool, and your energy?

The effects of sustained stress on our psyche, physical, emotional, and spiritual health are well documented. Prolonged stress erodes our immune systems, elevates inflammation, affects our body rhythms, negatively impacts our relationships and hacks into our longevity.

At Stillwater Healing Arts, I specialize in transformative journeys that blend therapuetic bodywork, On-the-Table, with neurotraining and somatic coaching, Off-the-Table, awareness and practices.

This unique approach empowers individuals to connect deeply with their bodies, fostering resilience and holistic well-being. I believe that true transformation starts from within, and by integrating the wisdom of the body with the intricacies of the nervous system, I offer my clients a powerful toolset for achieving profound personal growth and lasting emotional and psychological well-being. With this as a foundation, individuals generate a greater capacity to navigate challenges, regulate emotions, tend and befriend their nervous system and build new pathways towards connection and safety, to live more authentically aligned lives.

My mission is to support individuals on the path to self-discovery and transformation through the power of somatic coaching and nervous system awareness. I am dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing space where clients can explore their inner landscapes, release past traumas, and cultivate a harmonious mind-body connection. Through this work I aim to inspire and facilitate meaningful, sustainable change for my clients, my community, and the globe.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

Cranio-sacral work restores ease back into our systems, our breath, and helps us feel more comfortable in our own skin. This is a gentle, light touch method of evaluating and enhancing the function of the craniosacral system, the environment in which the brain and spinal cord function. An imbalance or dysfunction in this system can cause sensory, motor, or neurological disabilities such as chronic pain, eye difficulties, jaw imbalances, and motor-coordination impairments. This work is especially effective for chronic stress, post surgical procedures, and life transitions.

Visceral Manipulation

Visceral Manipulation enhances the normal mobility and tissue motion of the organs of the visceral system. Every organ has its own relationship to the brain. A torque or compression into an organ can be disruptive not only to the organ itself, but to the structures connecting the organ to it’s attachments and therefore the nervous system. Visceral pain can be referred into the body as a deep ache, digestive distress, upper GI issues, bloating, gas, headaches, backaches, lethargy and nausea.

Myofascial Therapy

Transform pain into ease and openness. Myofascial release uses gentle sustained pressure into the fascia/connective tissue. Fascia, which is everywhere in our bodies, is not only a support structure but also a sensory organ. Like ligaments and tendons it has mechanoreceptors which allow it to sense pressure, stretch, etc and relay that information to the brain. Points of restriction in the fascia can place a great deal of pressure on nerves, and muscles causing chronic pain. It is a very effective way to release tension due to trauma, posture, or inflammation.

Somatic Coaching

Somatic (body based) coaching can transform your relationship with stress and your nervous system’s responses, your life can be more balanced, peaceful and vibrant.

A deeper level of healing can be achieved when we tap into the innate wisdom of the body to cultivate body-mind integration. Our Energy levels are enhanced and our Spirit is open. Somatic Coaching is a supportive and interactive approach in which we can access your inner source of strength and bring about positive changes in your life.

Together, we achieve this by bringing a greater physical awareness and respect for the body. Somatic Coaching assists you to bring balance and harmony back into your life by addressing how stress affects your body and mind. Here’s how it works:

Awareness

Grounding
Together, we’ll use grounding techniques to calm your nervous system and steady your energy.

Movement and Breath
Through movement and breath work, you'll release tension and restore your natural flow.

Mindfulness
Mindfulness practices will help you stay present and appreciate the ever-changing patterns of your life.

Resilience
You’ll build resilience, learning to adapt and find beauty in change.

Neurotraining and Brainspotting

Did you know that the brain actually controls how we move? It is also responsible for interpreting input from the body about pain, hunger, sleep, stress, and pleasure, danger, and safety. Opening the pathways between our bodies and the brain, we can remove the blocks that keep us feeling stuck, not only physically but psychologically. Neurotraining and Brainspotting use the field of vision to determine where any negative experience or trauma is held in the brain. Based on the idea that where you look affects how you feel (Vestibulo-ocular reflex), therapists guide clients to focus on specific eye positions correlated with brain areas storing traumatic memories. During sssions, clients focus on chosen eye positions. Processing the feelings and thoughts lead to emotional breakthroughs and deep healing while being guided by the therapist in a supportive environment. This is a profoundly therapeutic approach to assist our nervous systems into regulation for conditions like PTSD, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. A sense of well being and emotional calm, repair and resilience are more available after these sessions.

All of these offerings are facilitated with a Trauma-informed lens intermingled with the Polyvagal theory. When integrated into Somatic coaching, Polyvagal theory is greatly enriched.
